Experience

Roots Car Exhibition - College balcony -Moon Rover / Coventry City College

Start date: 2015 - End date: 2017,  Location Coventry

  • As part of the Transport Design Course, we were commissioned by the Herbert Art Gallery to use an original Root’s car design and incorporate modern designs that would be on public display at the Herbert Museum.

  • We had to redesign a balcony area using a scale model to offer outdoor living, constructing the components in miniature.

  • My final project, I designed and made from scratch, a ‘Moon Rover’ inspired by the films ‘The Martian’ and ‘Moon’.

Material Introduction  / Greater Brighton Metropolitan College

Start date: 2018 - End date: 2019,  Location: Worthing

The first few months at Northbrook we were introduced to the following basic procedures, being made aware of the health and safety involved with the following...

  • Moulding

  • Lifecasting

  • Casting

  • Poly carving

  • Painting

Shoreham Fort commission build / Greater Brighton Metropolitan College

Start date: 2019 - End date: 2019,  Location: Worthing

I was part of a first-year group, assigned to assist the second-year students who were commissioned by a local charity group ‘Friends of Shoreham Fort ’.

I was part of a two-man team that made 10 British grenades from gun foam core with rubber skin, painted the weathering effect on the trench periscope and quality control on the bullets and cannon shell.

Big Sur / Greater Brighton Metropolitan College

Start date: 2019 - End date: 2019,  Location: Worthing

For the final project, we had to build a piece of furniture at a 1:6 scale. The piece of furniture I chose was the couch called ‘Big Sur’ designed by the artist Peter Shire.

This model was primarily made from plywood covered in sheets of styrene plastic, the difficulty was to use a non-aggressive adhesive that wouldn’t affect the finish of the delicate sheets of foam used to replicate the look of the fabric.
